BuzzTrends is a social media search and trending engine. It uses news feeds from Google, Yahoo, USAToday, ESPN and CNN to determine trending stories. Additionally, it weighs in trending Twitter topics and Google Searches to represent the real time Buzz these stories have. This information is processed to create the BuzzCloud.
The searches it performs go to a variety of sources for subject-centric information, videos, photos, products, and real-time tweets relating to the search term. Subject-centric information is retrieved from Freebase , Wikipedia and AudioScrobbler ( for bands ). The Videos and Photos are searched from multiple sites. When searching video, for example, it goes to YouTube, Vimeo, MetaCafe and PhotoBucket and then displays them all in a uniform and consistent fashion.
